GRAIN MERCHANDISER: WESTON WINKERS

Aurora Cooperative 6 years ago

I grew up on a small farm in Woodman, Wisconsin and all of my family still lives in the southwest Wisconsin area. While growing up, I spent a lot of time hunting and fishing with my dad. I am still a big fan of hunting turkeys in the spring and deer in the fall here in Nebraska.

When I was 6 years old my love for rodeo was born when I started competing in little britches rodeos. I am still involved in rodeo today as a steer wrestler. I enjoy spending my summers competing in rodeos all throughout the Midwest.

Right out of high school, I worked for a small railroad company in Wisconsin for 2-1/2 years. After that, my dad and I started working together in the livestock hauling industry. I have been a Grain Merchandiser with Aurora Cooperative for 2-1/2 years. I live in Nelson, Neb., and I currently office out of our Sedan Grain Terminal. My trade area includes York, Fillmore, Thayer, Nuckolls, Clay and Hamilton counties.

I enjoy my career not only because I love agriculture, as it has been a big part of my life from the beginning, but I also take great pride in working hard to build relationships with our farmer-owners. As Grain Merchandisers, my team and I bring value to our owners by providing them with up-to-date, accurate information to help them make the best marketing decisions for their farm.

I believe in working hard to put our owners’ equity to work every day by bringing proactive solutions when it comes to grain marketing and to always represent their cooperative in a positive way.
