Meet John Borchers.

Aurora Cooperative 1 month ago

I grew up in northwest Iowa on a small grain and livestock farm.  After graduating from South Dakota State University, I began my career with DeBruce Grain as a grain merchandiser and location manager serving the Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas areas. I then went on to earn my master’s degree in Agribusiness from Kansas State University.  After receiving my master’s degree, I served as area manager in Galesburg, IL for Gavilon Grain which bought out DeBruce.  Most recently, I have spent the last four years with Agtegra Cooperative in Aberdeen, SD as Soy Product Line manager and Director of Origination.  I am fortunate to have had the opportunities to be in so many different communities and roles.

I am married to my wife Connie, of 17 years who is from Leigh, NE and we have four kids.  Connor and Jackson, ages 13 and 11, and two girls, Cara and Johnna, ages 7, and 4. We will be residing in the Grand Island area.

As Director of Merchandising and Origination I am excited to get to know our farmer base and to lead the grain trading team.  Across our footprint, we have a wide range of commodities and farming practices, access to two class 1 rail lines that serve us at multiple locations, and we have several truck destinations, ethanol plants, processors, and feed yards.  All of that together makes for a very challenging and exciting environment to work in. I look forward to learning and growing together to better serve our growers.

As always, if I can help you in anyway reach out!
