HR & General Counsel Intern
Hello! My name is Lexi Jones and I am an intern this summer for Aurora Cooperative. I currently attend the University of Nebraska at Kearney where I study political science and am on the pre-law track. This summer, I am in the legal division under Kara Ronnau at the corporate office in Aurora.
I grew up outside of Aurora and attended Aurora High School, so I have seen the coop grow and evolve over the years. Watching this, I knew Aurora Cooperative was the perfect choice for my internship because I wanted to be a part of something great.
So far, Kara has been an amazing mentor and allowed me to be involved in so many learning opportunities. My day usually involves attending a meeting of some sort, whether it be about insurance, a case, or just a normal day-to-day meeting with some executives. I also spend time reading through cases and doing tasks for my mentor. I am so lucky to be able to experience and be involved with these important tasks that will aid me in my future.
I have gained so much so far in learning about corporate law and a deeper understanding of Aurora Cooperative. I am so thankful to have this opportunity, and I am extra grateful to have Kara as my mentor because I couldn’t ask for a better role model to look up to throughout my future in law.
