Agronomy Sales Intern
Hello, my name is Max Mueller, and I’m from Ogallala, Nebraska. I’m entering my third year at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where I’m majoring in agronomy with a minor in precision agriculture. This summer, I’ve been focused on agronomy sales in Grant, Nebraska, under the mentorship of Andrew Cantrell and Casey Griffin.
This is my first internship with the cooperative and my second internship overall. Last summer, I worked with 21st Century Equipment in equipment sales, which inspired me to pursue a deeper understanding of agronomy. Growing up on a small family farm south of Ogallala, I’ve always had a passion for agriculture, and these experiences have helped solidify my interest in building a career in the field.

No two days are the same, and I’ve found that incredibly energizing. One of my personal goals this summer was to identify common diseases and insects affecting local crops, and thanks to the guidance of my mentors, I’m proud to say that goal has been achieved. In addition to crop scouting, I’ve had the opportunity to speak directly with growers, assess cropping systems, and explore effective agronomic solutions. I’ve also supported the team by delivering chemicals and trailers to the field.
Looking ahead, I’m eager to learn more about agronomy, strengthen relationships with growers, and gain a deeper understanding of the products and services we provide. My time in Grant has been both educational and rewarding, and I look forward to coming back next year.
