Sales Intern
Hi, I’m Morgan Bonifas, a sophomore at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, majoring in Agriculture and Environmental Sciences Communication. I’m also pursuing minors in Agribusiness, Horticulture, and the Engler Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program. This summer, I’m interning with the Agronomy Sales department at the Paddock location, working alongside Mitch Wishart.
I grew up just outside of Aurora, Nebraska, where I was actively involved in 4-H and FFA, showing livestock and competing in various different competitions. These organizations as well as growing up on a farm sparked a deep-rooted passion for agriculture—both crops and livestock.
Each day of my internship has been unique and full of learning opportunities. I’ve worked in the fertilizer mixing plant, helped in the chemical warehouse, ridden along in tenders for applicators, and spent time in the field conducting stand counts, scouting for weeds and pests, and collecting tissue samples. I’ve also had the chance to interact with customers, deliver products, and support their needs.

Additionally, I spend one day each week with the Owners Acres Team in Aurora, where I’ve taken part in sales and agronomy trainings, attended plot tours, and assisted with tissue sampling and stand counts. One of the highlights so far has been seeing a drone in action—flying over fields at more than 30 mph to take stand counts. This made our data collection faster and more accurate.
This experience has taught me how critical strong relationships are between cooperatives and their customers. I’m excited to keep learning about the wide range of products Aurora Coop offers and continue building connections with producers in the community. I’m incredibly thankful for the support I’ve received from the team, especially at the Paddock location and Owners Acres, and I look forward to the rest of my summer internship!
