Aurora Cooperative Invests in Storage Expansion at Sedan

AURORA, NE – Aurora Cooperative Elevator Company has announced a major storage expansion at its Sedan Terminal near Edgar, Nebraska. The project includes four new ground piles totaling 8.8 million bushels of space, increasing total storage capacity at Sedan by more than 6.2 million bushels. The expansion will also feature a total unloading capacity of 60,000 bushels per hour across two pits.

Construction is currently underway and is scheduled to be completed in time for the 2026 fall harvest. Once finished, the facility upgrades will be fully operational and available to serve customers in the area.

“We are excited to have this opportunity to invest in the Sedan facility. As part of our outreach program across our footprint, we heard the need for this upgrade in Sedan and made it a priority to complete it this fiscal year,” said Jason Throener, Executive Vice President of Operations at Aurora Cooperative. “This expansion will not only add more storage, but our customers can also expect faster unloading times.”

Aurora Cooperative held a customer meeting on Wednesday, March 25, in Davenport to share project details and answer questions about the expansion. Additional updates will be provided as construction progresses.
