Develop Real Skills
At Aurora Cooperative, our summer internship program is designed to provide real-world experiences to students interested in the agriculture industry. We strive to include hands-on experiences that meet the goals and expectations of each student in our program. Students will not only learn about the typical day-to-day in a certain area they want to focus on, but we also incorporate various professional learning and development opportunities paired with many team-building activities. Sales Representative
This internship will focus on all aspects of sales within the cooperative. The majority of your time will be spent directly working with customers to provide knowledge of products and assistance in decision making for their operation. Each intern will choose an area of focus in agronomy, animal nutrition, energy, or Prairie Valley seed sales.
Operations
Interns within operations will spend their summer learning about different operational roles within agronomy and grain. They will learn all the daily tasks at each location including housekeeping and maintenance, operation of heavy equipment, and training on all safety protocols.
Precision Management
This internship will focus on the data-driven side of agronomy and will work alongside our Owners Acres team. Areas of emphasis will be: tissue sampling, variable rate technology and recommendations, crop scouting, and using our FieldAlytics platform.
Grain Origination
This internship will partner with our grain team. You will gain a better understanding of grain marketing within the cooperative system with our origination team. You will also get the opportunity to be on-site at grain elevators, learning what it takes to operationally move grain to our end destinations. Seeing multiple sides of the grain business will allow you to also build relationships with our owners.
Marketing & Communications
This internship will partner with our marketing team in Aurora, NE at our corporate office. You’ll be working on all facets of projects for the cooperative from all the different brands and segments. You’ll plan, organize, and attend owner events, engage with employees across the whole company, partake in strategy sessions and programs, and assist with the communication calendar. You’ll get to experience firsthand what it is like to serve Aurora Cooperative owners and employees.
Information Technology
This intern would join our team of IT professionals in Aurora, NE at our corporate office. They would assist the team in addressing technology requests from locations and employees as well as help with any development or implementation of new security or software features. Aurora Cooperative also has their own Mobile App designed in-house that an intern would be able to assist with and learn.
Finance
This internship would join our team of professionals in Aurora, NE at our corporate office. They would assist the team in all faucets of the business from internal audit, accounts payable, accounts receivable and engaging with management on margin and financial statement review. They would also assist the team in daily accounting processes that help build timely and accurate reports for management review.
